My name is Will Tsai, born 1983, November, date is private information. Born in Taiwan, grew up in Canada since 14 years old, graduated from one of the best university at the time - Simon Fraser university, double degree - industrial design degree and psychology degree I’ve always been a entrepreneur since the moment I moved to Canada. Back in the days, my first company was a company that put computer parts together for an affordable price for people, when computer was not as popular and people didn't know much about computer.

I was sleeping the days of school. After school, I would go to different computer part vendors, try to find the most affordable part that I could, and then put it together to sell it as a service, which I don't have. I didn't have a physical store. It was a service where, you know, by the word of mouth. The rest of the time, I would do different part times to sustain my family's everyday expense, and I was sleeping the days at school during class.

When you didn't have anything, any support, you just gotta do whatever it takes to survive

I've done so many different business when I was growing up. Trying to try different things based on the trial and error experience. I guess all the experience and all the people I met shape who I am today.

So as a creator, with my business entrepreneurial background, I quickly found ways to create, license my invention to TV network and A-listers, magic stars. Also, I have a line of magic production that's available for everyday working magician on the internet, and that's considered the first venture that really educated me for what business is.

When you had nothing, no was not an answer for anything in life. So, when I first started in magic, it was not like an everyday magician story, which was all glory and loving. When I got into magic, that was when I felt the most depressed at the early stage of my life. On the street, I met a street busker who is a magician and later found a fraud. I became a friend with the street performer because I was a hackler. I wanted to bust them, and in the process of trying to bust the magic trick, which I could not, I escaped my daily problems. It became a sort of an excitement, happiness. So, I made friends with the street busker. Then, at the time, I saved up money for my college, university, but I loaned it to the friend. He disappeared, never came back. So, I was left with no options but trying to look for a cash job. Then, I realized I saw the street busker busk on the street for cash, tips, and that was a way out. Because back in the days, all the checks that you worked for whatever company would take two weeks for them to give you the check, which I didn't have. And I started my days on the street.

At the time, I was a terrible magician. I didn't know nothing. All I knew was how to vanish a coin, which the street busker taught me. But because I had no option, so everywhere I see people, like bus station, I would show them, vanish the coin for them and ask if they need a magician. And if they say, yeah, come to my birthday party or whatever, I would show up and I would just do terrible magic. I was lucky because nobody told me how terrible I was, so I was able to keep on going. And eventually, when people ask me, hey, I saw this on a cruise ship where people would, magician would take a newspaper, tear it, and make it restore. Can you make it happen? I had no idea how to do it, but my answer was always, yes, of course I do. So I tried to figure out how to do it at home very quickly. And for the longest time, I was very guilty because I believed there was a way to make everything happen, and I was just bullshitting my way through just to make a living, just to bring food on the table. But later, many years, I found there was actually a process of being original, a process of invention, which made me one of the fastest designers in my industry. Because right now, if you ask me to create anything, the blueprint would just show up in my head in seconds. And that was trained from the early days.
