2. Set up your camera and connect it to Wi-Fi
2.1 Preparation
Please check the following before using your camera for the first time:
Your router has a 2.4 GHz frequency band
Your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that you want the camera to connect to.
Smartphone and camera must be close to the router for setup, within a radius of max. 3 meters.
(after commissioning, the camera can be placed further away)
The Wi-Fi password (network key) is known to you

This quick start guide contains some instructions for the camera. Due to the small package size, further information on functions, using a micro SD card, fault diagnosis, etc. is included in a PDF, which can be found via this link: https://hikam.de/q8neu-pdf-de

2.3 HiKam Pro App
Search for the "HiKam Pro" app in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) and install it for free.

Create a new account in the HiKam Pro app by tapping "New User Registration" at the bottom.
(If you already have an account in the HiKam Pro app, just log in)
2.4 Setting up the camera
The app will guide you through the configuration step by step
Launch the HiKam Pro app, click the + button in the top right corner to add a new camera
From the "Alternative Methods" > menu options, select "Smart Scan Q8 2023" and then follow the instructions in the app.
Make sure that the network displayed is the one you want the camera to connect to (must be -Wi-Fi), enter the correct Wi-Fi password (network key), tap "Next".
Note: if the Wi-Fi name here is not that of the network you want the camera to connect to, go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings, connect it to the appropriate Wi-Fi network, and try again from the beginning
2.2 Turn on the camera
Hold the smartphone about 15 cm away in front of the camera so that the QR code is readable by the camera.
When the camera has successfully scanned the QR code, you will hear
a short beep from the camera.
Click "Continue"
(In some cases, the app will automatically move on to the next step and display the next page right away.)
The app will now find and add the camera. You will then be asked to name the camera and assign it a new, secure password.
Now the camera is added to the app, you can watch the live video.
Tip: After the camera is added, you can now change its settings
2.5 Alternative setup methods
The camera can also be set up via AP mode. Try these methods if Smart Scan fails
Setup via AP mode:
In HiKam Pro, click the "," button in the top right corner and select AP Mode. Fashion. Follow the instructions in the app to complete the setup.
3. Add camera on more smartphones
Once the camera is set up and connected to your Wi-Fi, you can add the Q8 to other smartphones. For more information, see the online PDF under hikam.de/q8neupdf-de in the section '3. Add camera on more smartphones'.

Factory reset. The status LED on the camera will flash red and blue.
6. Micro SD card slot
Gently turn the camera head up until you see the marked part.
There you will find the reset button and the slot for the microSD card (microSD card not included).
Insert the card with the contact side (metal side) facing up.
The camera supports microSD cards
from 4 GB to 256 GB .
Both the FAT32 and exFAT formats are supported on the microSD card.
The status LED provides information about the status of the camera.

4. Functions
The camera supports features such as remote access for video and audio, pan-tilt control, two-way audio, night vision, motion detection, and more. The camera can also be controlled remotely via the HiKam Pro app on your smartphone

5. Factory reset camera
If necessary, you can reset the camera to restore all settings made by the user, including Wi-Fi settings and camera password, to factory status.
To reset the camera:
The camera must be powered. After about 30 seconds, the status LED will light up. Wait a few more seconds before moving on to step 2.
On the top of the camera is the "RESET" hole (as shown in the image above). Use the included reset pin (included in the product box) to press it for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep. Release the button immediately after hearing the beep
(In case you press it for about 6 to 10 seconds and hear two beeps, wait 1 minute and then repeat the process from the first step to reset the camera)
