Summary-摘要: Objectives(#br)This study aimed to investigate the association between contrast-enhanced ultrasound-detected (CEUS) perfusion patterns of carotid plaque and the occurrence of stroke.(#br)Materials and methods(#br)This prospective observational study finally enrolled 256 patients (151 of them having undergone CEUS) from 7851 patients who underwent carotid artery ultrasound from May 2019 to December 2019 with the endpoint being the occurrence of stroke. The risk factors and carotid ultrasound fetures was obtained from those patients. Summary-摘要: Background(#br) We investigated the relationship between remnant cholesterol and carotid intraplaque neovascularization (IPN) assessed by contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in patients with ischemic stroke. (#br)Methods(#br) This was a single-center study. Remnant cholesterol is calculated as total cholesterol minus low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) minus high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). All patients underwent CEUS. Summary-摘要: OBJECTIVE(#br) Complete resection of malignant gliomas is often challenging. Our previous study indicated that intraoperative contrast-enhanced ultrasound (ICEUS) could aid in the detection of residual tumor remnants and the total removal of brain lesions. This study aimed to investigate the survival rates of patients undergoing resection with or without the use of ICEUS and to assess the impact of ICEUS on the prognosis of patients with malignant glioma. (#br)METHODS(#br) A total of 64 patients diagnosed with malignant glioma (WHO grade HI and IV) who underwent surgery between 2012 and 2018 were included. Among them, 29 patients received ICEUS. The effects of ICEUS on overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of patients were evaluated. Summary-摘要: Objective(#br)Due to the infiltrative nature and high local recurrence of gliomas, particularly high-grade gliomas, gross total resection (GTR) of a tumor is the first critical step in treatment. The development of non-invasive muscle atrophy evaluation method is of great practical value. The lack of gold standard for pathological grading usually allows only the duration of weightlessness as a criterion for the degree of atrophy. Summary-摘要: BACKGROUND(#br) Acute stroke poses a serious threat to people's health. The occurrence of a thrombus following the rupture of vulnerable plaques in the carotid artery is a significant contributor to the development of stroke. In previous case reports, it has been challenging to visualize tiny ulcerations within carotid artery plaques using computed tomography angiography (CTA) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA), even when the rupture of the plaque leads to the formation of a free-floating thrombus (FFT). However, in this particular case, contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) was able to overcome this limitation and provide a more precise assessment, confirming that the FFT formation was indeed a result of plaque rupture rather than any other potential causes. Summary-摘要: To observe the association between migraine and patent foramen ovale (PFO) using contrast-enhanced transthoracic echocardiography (cTTE). Eighty-five migraine with aura (MA) patients and 85 migraine without aura (MO) patients from January 2020 to February 2022 were divided into group A and group B, respectively. Sixty-five healthy people were included in normal control group. Difference of PFO positive rate among group A, group B, and normal control group was significant (p=0.002). Difference of PFO related right-to-left shunt (PFO-RLS), Grade 2 shunt, and Grade 3 shunt among group A, group B, and normal control group was significant (p=0.043 and p=0.013 respectively). PFO-RLS Grade 2 and 3 shunts may play an important role in MA patients and MO patients, and the size of PFO-RLS shunt may be associated with migraine. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between carotid plaque enhancement on perfluorobutane microbubble contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) and future recurrent stroke, and to determine whether plaque enhancement can contribute to risk assessment for recurrent stroke compared with the Essen Stroke Risk Score (ESRS). Prospective or retrospective studies that reported sensitivity and specificity of CEUS for the diagnosis of carotid artery occlusion were selected. Eight studies (354 arteries) were included in the meta-analysis. A bivariate random-effect model was used to estimate overall sensitivity and specificity. The results were also summarized by developing a summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve. Summary-摘要: 抄録(#br)A 76-year-old Japanese man with probable hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) presented with hepatic arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and hyperintense T1 signal of the bilateral basal ganglia on magnetic resonance imaging. He was diagnosed with shunt encephalopathy because of depressed consciousness and drooling. Fast Fourier transform analysis and contrast-enhanced sonography showed a marked increase in blood flow with decreased arterial resistance in the hepatic artery and a delay in the transition to the Kupffer phase. This is the first report of an assessment of hepatic shunt blood flow in an HHT case with shunt encephalopathy caused by hepatic AVM.

Summary-摘要: BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE(#br)Plaque neovascularization is a hallmark of carotid plaque vulnerability. With contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) it is possible to visualize plaque neovessels in vivo. Our aim was to determine if CEUS-detected neovessels were associated with stroke recurrences in patients with a recent stroke and carotid atherosclerosis.(#br)METHODS(#br)We conducted a prospective study of consecutive patients with a recent stroke and at least one atherosclerotic plaque in the internal carotid artery on the side consistent with symptoms. All of our patients underwent a carotid ultrasound examination including a CEUS study. Neovascularization was graded into three categories according to the extent of neovessels. During the follow-up, we recorded stroke recurrences. Summary-摘要: To determine the cut-off value of the area ratio under the curve (ARUC) for predicting symptoms of stroke.;Contrast-enhanced ultrasound was used to analyse intraplaque neovascularization (IPN). The correlations between the ARUC and risk factors of stroke were examined. A receiver operating characteristic curve was used to determine the cut-off value of the ARUC.;Using a quantitative analysis method for IPN, the ARUC was significantly higher in the symptomatic group than in the asymptomatic group (p=0.017). The ARUC was positively associated with the homocysteine level (r=0.429, p=0.002) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein level (r=0.424, p=0.003). Regression analysis showed that the ARUC was a risk factor for symptoms of stroke. Summary-摘要: Ultrasonography (US) is the first-line modality for the evaluation of vascular pathology. Although well-established for many diseases, US has inherent limitations that can occasionally hinder an accurate diagnosis. The value of US was improved by the introduction of microbubbles as ultrasonographic contrast agents (UCAs) and the emergence of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS), following the introduction of second-generation UCAs and the emergence of modern contrast-specific techniques. CEUS offers valuable information about vascular disease, both on a macrovascular and a microvascular level, with well-established applications for carotid disease, post-interventional follow-up of abdominal aortic aneurysms, and the assessment of portal vein thrombosis. The purpose of this review is to discuss the principles of CEUS and to present an overview of its vascular applications.

In this study, we aim to evaluate the correlation of carotid IPN with cerebral WMLs.(#br)Methods(#br)The presence of IPN and WMLs were assessed by contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and MRI respectively. IPN was evaluated utilizing semi-quantification visual grading scale and WMLs was divided according to Fazekas grading scale.
