Hello, friends of Zhihu, thank you all for bringing your family and friends to watch the movie 《The Wandering Earth 2》 on New Year's Day. Another four years have passed, and we have finally returned with the little broken ball! We are very grateful to the friends of Zhihu for the encouragement, guidance, and criticism you provided during the first installment, especially for often seeing everyone on Zhihu dissect the movie details, which was both thrilling and nerve-wracking.

Regarding how to write the story for the second episode, we came up with several plans, ranging from the simplest to the most challenging. The simplest one was essentially to replicate the model of the first episode, using a relatively safe approach to create a standard genre structure. However, our script mentor Wang Hongwei still encouraged us to try harder and take an extra step, which led to the version you see today.

We chose to write forward, firstly to add more dimensions to the world view, as the world view in the first episode was still relatively crude; secondly, during the production of the first episode, Brother Jing gave us a lot of selfless help, and we hope Brother Jing can return to express our gratitude to him, but we don't want to write it as a resurrection, which would be a bit far-fetched.

Of course, we still underestimated the difficulty of building this world view, from natural sciences to social sciences, everyone's knowledge framework is limited. For this reason, we invited several scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences to serve as scientific advisors. Thanks to them, this imagined world has taken its initial shape.

I am very aware that the success of the first episode was largely due to the tolerance of our audience. The film itself had many shortcomings, and our audience was very clear about the differences between the first episode and mainstream Hollywood blockbusters. However, they still embraced us and pushed us forward. The audience's increased expectations for the work are actually a form of recognition, and this recognition is the driving force for our progress. Therefore, "a little better than the first episode" became our ultimate goal from planning, scriptwriting, preparation, shooting, to post-production. We hope that the second episode of Little Broken Ball can live up to the audience's expectations and tolerance.

This movie also has a lot of hidden jokes, looking forward to seeing the digging by the great Zhihu audience, making me excited and nervous at the same time.

In the movie, there is a line that many of the main actors have said: "I am here, I have always been here." I believe that after four years, we are still here, and our audience is still here.

Accompaniment is the longest declaration of love. Thank you to the audience for their endless tolerance and support of Xiao Poqiu's growth. Back then, 110 million viewers personally planted the seed of science fiction, which has now sprouted. I hope that one day it will grow into a towering tree full of imagination.
