This assessment falls under the category of AI-supported. This is because GenAI tools can be used to enhance your assignment, for example to improve the structure of your work or quality of English language. However, you do not have to use AI tools to complete this assignment.

The summative assessments consist of 2 x 1500 word mini essays (50% each) and contribute to 100% of the assessment for this module. Mini essay 1 assesses your understanding of cognitive psychology. Mini essay 2 assesses your understanding of developmental psychology. Both mini essays assess your ability to identify relevant theoretical and empirical research, demonstrate your knowledge of these, and demonstrate your ability to weigh up evidence critically. Mini essay 2 also requires you to demonstrate an understanding of the implications of developmental theory for educational policy and practice. See pages 4-6 for more detail and guidance.
