These points were made in response to published policy briefs. We agreed they would form part of the marking criteria. They do not replace the school marking criteria, but they should help you in writing. They are as follows:

- No ‘fluff’. Get to the point, be concise. Have an impactful beginning. Its not an essay!

- Think about the lay person audience, simplify language, don’t use too much jargon and explain important technical aspects. Be clear.

- Do be too broad, or have recommendations that are too ambitious to implement,

- You can advocate for a certain action, but there must be balance- outline the challenges as well as potential benefits. Be realistic. Technology is not a silver bullet

- Be issue specific, use precise and up-to-date data where its available
